Machine Learning Research Engineer to advance weather forecasting models.
- •WindBorne Systems is supercharging weather forecasts with a proprietary data source: a global constellation of next-generation smart weather balloons.
- •We are looking for a broadly capable ML researcher and engineer passionate about machine learning to push our models forward.
- •Key Responsibilities Develop methods for incorporating real-time observations into our forecasts.
- •Work toward a single model capable of predicting many weather-related datasets.
- •Find, understand, clean, and combine large datasets with inconsistent formats.
- •Test ideas quickly, learn from failures, and follow promising results.
- •Turn successful experiments into reusable systems that accelerate future research.
- •Requirements Strong research taste and ability to identify important questions.
- •Deep enthusiasm for machine learning and understanding models in detail.
- •Strong Python and PyTorch skills.
- •Experience working with large, messy datasets.
- •Comfortable crossing boundaries between research and engineering.
