About the role
TL;DR
Owns embedded safety architecture and requirements for autonomous transportation systems.
- •Waabi is seeking a Staff Systems Engineer to own the translation of vehicle-level safety concepts into embedded system requirements and architecture.
- •You will be the embedded counterpart to the systems and safety group, ensuring safety by design from the vehicle down to the embedded platform.
- •Key Responsibilities Partner with the systems and safety group to translate vehicle-level safety concepts into embedded expertise.
- •Own the embedded technical safety concept, deriving and allocating technical safety requirements.
- •Define the embedded system architecture and hardware/software partition.
- •Manage requirements and maintain bidirectional traceability for the safety case.
- •Steward automotive standards for the embedded organization.
- •Requirements BS/MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience. 8+ years in embedded systems with hardware and software depth.
- •Strong ISO 26262 experience (Part 4, 5, 6).
- •Familiarity with automotive standards like SOTIF, ISO 21448, ISO/SAE 21434, UL 4600, ASPICE.
- •Fluency with requirements management and traceability tools (e.g., Polarion).
