- •Twelve Labs is seeking a hands-on Tech Lead Manager to build and lead a new team focused on Jockey Core, the reasoning LLM powering their video understanding platform.
- •This role involves both technical leadership and team building.
- •Key Responsibilities Build and lead the founding team for Jockey Core, including hiring, growth, and technical direction.
- •Own the end-to-end roadmap for Jockey Core, from model selection to production serving and scaling.
- •Stay hands-on by leading critical system architecture decisions and setting technical standards.
- •Manage latency, throughput, and cost tradeoffs using data and collaborate with other teams on capacity and SLOs.
- •Explore and adopt AI-assisted development tools to enhance team productivity.
- •Requirements Proven track record leading ML/infrastructure teams as a hands-on tech lead or manager, ideally founding or scaling a team.
- •Deep experience serving and optimizing large-scale LLM inference in production (vLLM, TensorRT-LLM, SGLang, or similar).
- •Habit of driving ambiguous technical decisions with measured latency/throughput/cost data.
- •Excellent communication and people leadership skills.
