About the role
TL;DR
Manage a data engineering team focused on ML systems and real-time infrastructure.
- •Lead a multi-disciplinary team of ML engineers, data scientists, and data engineers building retrieval, ranking, and contextual-bandit systems, and the real-time serving and data infrastructure beneath them.
- •This role sits at the intersection of technical depth and people leadership.
- •Key Responsibilities Lead, grow, and retain a high-performing team of ML engineers, data scientists, and data engineers.
- •Set technical direction for the core intelligence behind Truecaller’s calling and search intelligence.
- •Own team planning, prioritization, and delivery, balancing near-term product commitments against long-term platform health.
- •Partner closely with product, data science, and other engineering teams to translate business goals into a clear technical roadmap.
- •Drive rigor in experimentation and evaluation, from offline metrics to online A/B tests.
- •Requirements Proven experience leading or managing engineering or ML teams, ideally in recommendations, ranking, ads, search, or a similarly ML-heavy domain.
- •Solid grasp of applied ML in production
- •retrieval and ranking, experimentation, model serving, and the data that feeds them.
- •Working knowledge of backend and data engineering practices

- •Strong leadership and communication skills.
- •Track record of delivering complex technical projects on time and at scale.
