- •TRM Labs is seeking a Staff Data Platform Engineer to join the Data Platform Serving team, focusing on the StarRocks-backed serving layer for government cloud investigations.
- •This role is crucial for maintaining the speed, reliability, and compliance of this high-availability environment.
- •Key Responsibilities Own performance tuning on the StarRocks serving layer, using AI-assisted query profiling to identify and resolve slow query patterns.
- •Build and harden data pipelines for government cloud investigations, leveraging AI code review workflows in a high-compliance environment.
- •Reduce single-point-of-failure risk by becoming a second engineer capable of operating and troubleshooting the serving layer independently.
- •Utilize AI-assisted debugging and log analysis to rapidly triage and fix production issues in a regulated environment.
- •Requirements U.S. citizenship is required due to government cloud data access.
- •Hands-on experience operating distributed OLAP or serving-layer systems (StarRocks, Trino, ClickHouse, or similar), including query tuning and performance optimization.
- •Experience owning data pipeline reliability and incident response, comfortable using AI tools for debugging, code review, and documentation.
- •Independent ownership mindset, with the ability to quickly ramp up on unfamiliar production infrastructure using AI-assisted research and code exploration.
