- •Tailscale is seeking a Product Manager to own the experience of building Tailscale-native applications, where connectivity and identity are integrated from the start.
- •This role focuses on TSNet, tailscale-rs SDKs, and the core Tailscale client library.
- •Key Responsibilities Own the roadmap for TSNet, tailscale-rs, and the tailscale CLI.
- •Define the "Tailscale-native application" experience through reference architectures, golden paths, and embedding patterns.
- •Enhance the end-to-end developer experience, including onboarding, API ergonomics, and documentation.
- •Set the strategy for the Rust SDK family and position it for developers.
- •Treat the CLI as a product, focusing on scripting ergonomics and automation surfaces.
- •Requirements 6+ years in product management or a software engineering background with experience in developer-facing products (SDK, API, CLI, library, or developer tool).
- •Proven track record of shipping developer-facing features used in production.
- •Ability to read Go and/or Rust and engage in technical conversations about API and SDK design.
- •Strong opinions and examples regarding developer experience, API ergonomics, docs, and getting-started flows.
- •Experience conducting customer research through channels like GitHub issues, Discord, and office hours.
- •Ability to translate ambiguous scope into shipped increments and maintain team communication.
