About the role
TL;DR
Build and own customer success through technical expertise and strategic advisory.
- •We’re seeking Founding Forward-Deployed Engineers (FDE) to serve as the technical face of Sandstone for a cohort of in-house legal teams post-sale, owning engagements from onboarding through adoption, expansion, and renewal.
- •Our FDEs are fully ambidextrous: they sit on our Post-Sales team and they also meet or exceed the technical caliber of our core software engineers.
- •This is not a sales role.

- •owning how Client readiness translates into strong adoption, retention, and expansion.
- •Key Responsibilities Build software end to end that enables the success of our largest customers.
- •Own a portfolio of accounts, establishing a strong foundation for long-term adoption and clear, measurable client outcomes.
- •Drive sustained product adoption through structured enablement programs and tailored success plans.
- •Act as a trusted strategic advisor to legal and operational leaders.
- •Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, Legal Engineering, and Marketing to translate customer feedback into actionable insights.
- •Requirements 4+ years of experience as an Forward Deployed Engineer, Full Stack Engineer, or a related role within a high-growth B2B SaaS environment, ideally in LegalTech.
- •Demonstrated track record of entrepreneurship or success in an unstructured environment.
- •Empathy to understand customer feelings and emotional intelligence to interact smoothly with them.
- •Comfortable owning senior stakeholder relationships and driving adoption in a fast-moving setting.
