- •Ruby Labs is seeking a Senior Database Engineer to own, scale, and evolve their data infrastructure for a high-scale payment orchestration system.
- •This role is critical for ensuring the speed, reliability, and long-term growth of a platform processing millions of financial transactions monthly.
- •Key Responsibilities Own and operate AWS Aurora (PostgreSQL) in a high-load production environment.
- •Design and evolve schemas for large transactional domains and implement advanced indexing and partitioning strategies.
- •Optimize query performance, resolve bottlenecks, and prevent performance regressions.
- •Design high-performance search solutions for large operational datasets and work with event/log data pipelines.
- •Ensure data integrity, monitor database health, and plan/execute safe schema changes and migrations.
- •Requirements Strong hands-on experience with PostgreSQL in production.
- •Experience managing large databases (hundreds of millions of rows or more).
- •Solid understanding of indexing strategies, query planners, and transactions.
- •Experience with AWS-based infrastructure, ideally AWS Aurora.
- •Ability to independently investigate and resolve complex performance issues.
