About the role
TL;DR
Build AI agent workflows and infrastructure for a work management platform.
- •Plane is building the infrastructure for AI agents to work alongside humans in a shared system.
- •This role focuses on product engineering to enable agents to participate directly in work, reading context, taking action, and handing control back to humans.
- •Key Responsibilities Build agent workflows for planning, tool calling, execution, and recovery.
- •Design and ship MCP servers to expose Plane capabilities as tools for models.
- •Own the retrieval layer, including chunking, embedding models, and vector storage.
- •Build agent interfaces for customers, including streaming output and approval gates.
- •Establish evaluation harnesses and drive down production failure modes.
- •Requirements 2+ years building production software, with at least 1 year shipping LLM-backed features.
- •Strong Python and experience operating services in production.
- •Experience building agent systems that call tools, including orchestration and failure handling.
- •Working knowledge of retrieval systems, embedding models, and vector databases.
- •Experience building evaluation harnesses for non-deterministic systems.
