About the role

TL;DR

Lead the architecture and development of Nuro's fleet connectivity systems.

  • As the Technical Lead for Fleet Connectivity, you will define and build the highly resilient foundation for two-way communication between Nuro’s autonomous fleets and the cloud.
  • You will take ownership of the networking infrastructure, telemetry, and routing that manage critical data flow at scale across our current and next-generation platforms.
  • Key Responsibilities Establish the technical roadmap and architectural vision for the fleet connectivity, ensuring the observability, security, and reliability of cellular network components and network software during robot start-up and autonomous operation.
  • Drive system design for highly scalable, fault-tolerant connectivity solutions, leading software efforts for Nuro’s next-gen platforms.
  • Lead high-impact technical initiatives, working closely with upstream and downstream stakeholder teams to define system requirements and implement overarching connectivity strategies.
  • Spearhead the development of advanced analysis tools, dashboards, and automation frameworks to track, measure, and optimize connectivity trends from operational data.
  • Requirements Strong proficiency in C, C++, Go, Python, or similar languages.
  • Exceptional ability to turn ambiguous, high-level requirements into detailed, cohesive system designs and architecture spanning multiple components.
  • Deep technical expertise in debugging and tooling of cellular modems, Linux network stacks, and networking protocols. 8+ years of relevant industry experience with a proven track record of acting as a Tech Lead on complex software projects.
  • BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, or a related technical field.
