About the role
TL;DR
Lead backend architecture and build scalable Python services and data pipelines for Lumafield's cloud platform.
- •Lead backend architecture and build scalable Python services and data pipelines for Lumafield's cloud platform supporting image-heavy workflows and ML integrations.
- •Key Responsibilities Own backend architecture for services, APIs, persistence, async processing, and storage/compute integrations.
- •Design, build, and operate scalable Python backends (Django/DRF), Celery pipelines, and REST APIs.
- •Lead complex data-heavy workflows and integrate algorithms and ML job flows.
- •Architect and operate AWS infrastructure including S3, RDS/Aurora, IAM, networking, and SageMaker integration.
- •Mentor engineers and collaborate with product and leadership.
- •Requirements Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field and 10+ years software experience.
- •Expert Python with 5+ years shipping production backends (Django/DRF).
- •Deep PostgreSQL and AWS data/storage experience; practical SageMaker experience.
- •Experience with async systems (Celery + Redis), queues, retries, and production debugging.
- •Startup experience and experience owning architecture for complex cloud-hosted, data-heavy products.
