Senior Software Engineer to build backend services and user-facing coupon experiences.
- •Instacart's Growth Lifecycle Incentives team builds coupon experiences, a core revenue driver.
- •We own the end-to-end coupon experience across app, web, and CRM, partnering with Product, Data Science, and Machine Learning Engineers.
- •We are seeking Senior Software Engineers to design and build backend services and user-facing experiences.
- •Key Responsibilities Design, build, and own backend services, APIs, and data integrations for coupon merchandising.
- •Implement and iterate on experiments end-to-end, partnering with Product and Data Science.
- •Optimize codebase and product for reliability, performance, and cost efficiency.
- •Collaborate cross-functionally to define roadmaps and communicate tradeoffs.
- •Uphold high engineering standards through code reviews, testing, and thoughtful architecture.
- •Requirements 4+ years of professional backend software engineering experience.
- •Proficiency in a modern backend language (e.g., Go, Python, Java, Ruby, Node.js).
- •Experience designing and operating RESTful or gRPC APIs and microservices.
- •Strong knowledge of relational databases and caching/NoSQL stores.
- •Experience deploying and operating services on public cloud (AWS, GCP) and with containers (Docker, Kubernetes).
