TL;DR
Drive the design of high power laser systems for fusion energy.
- •Key Responsibilities Perform laser modeling design and simulation for high energy, high-average power laser systems.
- •Assess different architectural options to determine an optimum solution.
- •Oversee a team driving the design, installation, commissioning and optimization of beyond state-of-the-art laser systems.
- •Interface with the engineering and optical testing teams to ensure timely design and delivery of complex laser systems.
- •Requirements PhD plus 5-years’ experience in laser physics or a relevant field.
- •Experience of laser system design using simulation codes such as Miro or Rsoft, laser energetics models, Frantz-Nodvik, and analysis of non-linear optical systems.
- •Modeling and operation of diode-pumped solid-state laser systems and components.
