TL;DR
Own and scale Hazel's data platform, including ingestion, transformation, and AI agent development.
- •Hazel is seeking a Data Platform Engineer to own and scale their data warehouse, which is critical for their AI coworker product serving consumer brands.
- •This role directly impacts how users interact with Hazel by ensuring data reliability and efficient integration.
- •Key Responsibilities Own the data platform end-to-end: ingestion, transformation, orchestration, and reliability.
- •Develop AI agents to automate the building and testing of new data integrations.
- •Optimize ingestion pipelines for low-latency data availability, especially during peak seasons.
- •Build and maintain the data transformation layer for clean, predictable data.
- •Ship new source integrations end-to-end.
- •Requirements 4+ years of experience building production data infrastructure with ownership of a warehouse.
- •Deep understanding of dbt and SQL, with strong opinions on data modeling.
- •Strong Python skills for writing ingestion layers.
- •Experience owning an orchestrator in production (e.g., Dagster, Airflow, Temporal).
- •Experience with AI-native practices and coding agents.
