About the role

TL;DR

Design optimization core for Haladir's products using OR techniques.

  • You will aid in designing the optimization core of Haladir’s products, including models for wave release, inventory allocation, trucking routing, and labor planning.
  • This role combines practical heuristics with solver-based methods.
  • Key Responsibilities Design optimization models for core product features.
  • Translate operational constraints into production-ready mathematical models.
  • Work closely with operators to understand and optimize decision-making processes.
  • Implement models in production-quality Python using solver APIs.
  • Ensure reliability and scalability of optimization systems.
  • Requirements Strong background in Operations Research (MILP, constraint programming, heuristics, local search).
  • Research experience in Operations Research (publications, graduate research, or equivalent).
  • Proficiency in implementing models in production-quality Python using solver APIs (Gurobi, CP-SAT, or HiGHS).
  • Ability to translate real-world operational constraints into production-ready mathematical models.
  • Strong judgment on solution quality, computational performance, and operational constraints.
  • Willingness to relocate to San Francisco and travel to customer sites.
  • US work authorization.
