Design and build core optimization models for Haladir's products.
- •Haladir is seeking a Founding Operations Research Engineer to design and build the core optimization models for their products.
- •This role offers significant autonomy and close collaboration with the founding team.
- •Key Responsibilities Design optimization models for product features like wave releases, inventory allocation, trucking routing, and labor planning.
- •Translate complex operational constraints into production-ready mathematical models and systems.
- •Collaborate with operators to understand decision-making processes and optimize them at scale.
- •Combine practical heuristics with solver-based methods.
- •Requirements Strong background in Operations Research (MILP, constraint programming, heuristics, local search).
- •Research experience in Operations Research (publications, graduate research, or equivalent).
- •Proficiency in implementing models in production-quality Python using solver APIs (Gurobi, CP-SAT, HiGHS).
- •Ability to convert real-world operational constraints into production-runnable mathematical models.
- •Strong judgment on solution quality, computational performance, and operational constraints.
- •Willingness to relocate to San Francisco and travel to customer sites.
- •US work authorization.
