TL;DR
Lead AI engineering efforts, setting standards and ensuring safe, scalable AI feature development.
- •Maple is seeking a Staff AI Engineer to guide engineering teams in building, evaluating, and scaling AI features.
- •This role involves setting standards for AI development, ensuring quality and safety, and coaching engineers across the organization.
- •Key Responsibilities Set guardrails, evaluation strategy, and observability standards for AI features.
- •Shape model and provider strategy, usage patterns, and cost controls.
- •Define evaluation strategy and agent execution architecture.
- •Mentor and coach squads and engineers on AI best practices.
- •Partner with Product and Engineering squads on agentic feature development.
- •Requirements 8+ years of software engineering experience, with 2+ years in a Staff or Principal-level applied AI or ML engineering role.
- •Demonstrated ownership of agentic or LLM-powered systems in production.
- •Strong track record designing evaluation strategies for non-deterministic systems.
- •Deep understanding of agent execution patterns.
- •Experience defining AI quality and monitoring practices.
