- •General Matter is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to develop software for controlling industrial systems where safety and accuracy are paramount.
- •This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to build software that interacts directly with the physical world, contributing to the future of clean nuclear energy.
- •Key Responsibilities Architect and develop safety-critical embedded software in C/C++, Rust, and PLCs.
- •Design robust control architectures, state machines, and data acquisition systems.
- •Own software from development through deployment, creating automated build and test infrastructure.
- •Partner closely with hardware and electrical engineers to integrate firmware with hardware.
- •Perform safety analyses and validate control logic for deterministic behavior.
- •Requirements Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals.
- •BS degree in computer science, engineering, math, or a STEM discipline and 5+ years of professional experience.
- •Development experience in C, C++, Golang, Python or Rust.
- •Experience with embedded or low-level systems development.
- •Ability to debug real-world embedded systems using laboratory instrumentation.
