Lead data platform architecture, engineering, and team to ensure reliable data for AI and analytics.
- •Foodsmart is seeking a Director of Data Platform to take end-to-end ownership of their data lifecycle, from ingestion to modeling and delivery.
- •This role is crucial for ensuring the reliability and performance of the data infrastructure that powers the company's AI-driven insights.
- •Key Responsibilities Architect and manage the data lifecycle, including pipeline orchestration, dbt projects, and warehouse infrastructure.
- •Instill a "Data-as-a-Product" philosophy with defined SLAs for data quality and accessibility.
- •Lead and mentor a distributed data engineering team, focusing on scaling platform capacity through team growth.
- •Partner with Analytics & Data Science to define the architectural vision for the data foundation.
- •Ensure HIPAA compliance for sensitive healthcare data, including PHI access controls.
- •Requirements Over a decade of expertise in data engineering or platform domains, with at least 4 years leading teams.
- •Hands-on mastery of modern cloud data warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift) and orchestration frameworks (Dagster or Airflow).
- •Expert-level dbt proficiency and advanced command of dimensional modeling.
- •Strong Python engineering skills and a deep commitment to Data Reliability Engineering (DRE).
- •Experience managing distributed engineering talent and professional fluency in HIPAA regulations.
