TL;DR
Director of Product Management to own the Underwriting Engine platform end-to-end.
- •The Underwriting Engine is the most consequential system at Ethos, determining coverage, pricing, and speed.
- •This role owns the platform end-to-end, driving strategy and roadmap for its rules infrastructure, knowledge graph, and workbench tooling.
- •Key Responsibilities Own the decisioning rules infrastructure for eligibility, pricing, and risk criteria.
- •Drive the product strategy for structuring, enriching, and utilizing risk knowledge in decisioning systems.
- •Own internal tooling for configuring, testing, and deploying decisioning changes safely.
- •Champion and drive the AI/ML roadmap for underwriting to improve accuracy, speed, and coverage.
- •Ensure accuracy, fairness, and speed in underwriting decisions as product outcomes.
- •Requirements Proven ability to manage a small team while remaining deeply involved in the work.
- •Strong capability to translate complex technical systems to business stakeholders and vice versa.
- •Comfortable in data-heavy environments with a data-informed decision-making approach.
- •Precise and concise written and spoken communication skills, with confidence presenting to senior leadership.
- •Strong filter for impact-driven prioritization, identifying highest-leverage investments.
- •Technical credibility to work with complex systems like rules engines, knowledge graphs, and ML pipelines.
- •Proven track record in building data-heavy decisioning or intelligence platforms in regulated domains.
