Senior Data Scientist, Detection

Senior Data Scientist to research, design, and evaluate detection models for malicious activity.

• •Cloudflare's Detection department identifies automated, fraudulent, and malicious activity across the Internet using advanced detection systems and machine learning models.
• •This role collaborates with Product and Engineering teams to protect customers and stay ahead of evolving threats.
• •Key Responsibilities Research, design, and evaluate detection models for Internet-scale data.
• •Analyze large datasets to identify adversary patterns and behaviors.
• •Define and design metrics for detection success in ambiguous ground truth scenarios.
• •Evaluate and apply emerging AI/ML research, including LLMs and generative AI.
• •Partner with ML Engineers, Data Engineers, and Product to deploy detection approaches into production.
• •Requirements Experience with fraud, abuse, and/or bot detection at scale.
• •Solid fundamentals in applied statistics, machine learning, and AI. 5-7 years of professional experience in Data Science, ML Engineering, or Software Engineering.
• •Proficiency with Python and SQL in production environments.
