Founding technical leader for Aptos' payments business unit, building core payment infrastructure.
- •Aptos is a people-first blockchain focused on providing universal and fair access to decentralized assets.
- •This role is the founding technical leader for Aptos' new payments business unit, responsible for defining and building the core payment infrastructure.
- •Key Responsibilities Spec, ship, and run the Aptos Payment API, wrapping partner infrastructure and developing an orchestration engine.
- •Serve as the technical face of the unit, managing integration leadership and technical diligence with financial partners.
- •Build and maintain the trust infrastructure, including revenue attribution, KYC/KYB integration, and a testnet sandbox.
- •Integrate the payments stack with the trading stack, ensuring seamless routing and API contracts.
- •Hire and lead the initial engineering team, making build-vs-buy decisions for key components.
- •Requirements 8+ years building payment infrastructure at production scale (PSP or orchestrator-class systems).
- •Hands-on chain-native settlement experience with stablecoin rails and wallet infrastructure.
- •Proven ability to lead external technical relationships with banks, issuers, and regulated partners.
- •Strong product engineer instincts, building from client and partner needs.
- •Player-coach mentality, capable of shipping code and leading a team.
