About the role
TL;DR
Lead infrastructure operations and a team of engineers, driving cloud migration and system availability.
- •Lead the team that keeps payroll running.
- •This role directly manages the infrastructure engineers who keep it available
- •across both our legacy estate and the cloud platform we are building toward.
- •It is deliberately hands-on leadership.
- •Key Responsibilities Guide a team of three to six infrastructure engineers, owning their growth and feedback.
- •Drive cloud assessments and workload migration.
- •Troubleshoot across application tiers.
- •Own DR planning and testing.
- •Manage hosting and MSP relationships, and handle capacity planning.
- •Requirements 10+ years infrastructure and application support in production, including 5+ years managing a team.
- •Azure depth: complex Azure infrastructures, migration automation, Site Recovery, multi-subscription structures.
- •Docker and container infrastructure.
- •Puppet, Chef, or Ansible.
- •Microsoft SQL and the wider Microsoft stack.
- •Strong Windows and Linux scripting.
- •Data center facilities, hardware, and self-hosted security knowledge.
