Staff Platform Engineer to build and operate DeepL's hybrid compute infrastructure.
•DeepL is seeking a Staff Platform Engineer to join their Hybrid Platform Engineering team.
•This role involves building and operating the compute layer for DeepL's products and research, including Kubernetes control plane, node lifecycle, networking, and storage across on-prem and cloud infrastructure.
•Key Responsibilities Own the reliability, capacity, and cost efficiency of DeepL's CPU and GPU compute infrastructure.
•Shape the platform's architecture and drive the technical work of deepening the hybrid model.
•Design, build, and operate production-grade Kubernetes clusters across cloud and on-prem infrastructure.
•Define infrastructure-as-code and platform standards, strengthening observability and security.
•Mentor engineers and lead incident response for hybrid infrastructure.
•Requirements Deep, hands-on Kubernetes expertise with experience designing, building, and operating clusters at scale.
•Depth in public cloud (AWS preferred) or on-prem infrastructure.
•Strong networking and Linux debugging skills.
•Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and GitOps (ArgoCD).
