TL;DR

  • Canonical is seeking engineering leaders to drive quality, performance, and resilience across its Ubuntu Engineering organization.
  • These roles are for managers and Senior+ engineers who can build, nurture, and develop high-performing teams.
  • Key Responsibilities Lead teams in elevating the Linux developer and user experience.
  • Design, build, and ship high-quality, performant software in Rust, Go, and Python.
  • Take responsibility for planning, estimation, and execution of technical roadmaps.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop strong engineers, positively influencing culture.
  • Contribute to upstream and neighboring open source projects.
  • Requirements Exceptional academic track record and an undergraduate degree in Computer Science or STEM, or a compelling alternative narrative.
  • Ability to drive and deliver technical work streams above and beyond expectations.
  • Demonstrated passion for open source software.
  • Significant experience with Rust, Go, Python, Flutter, or C/C++.
  • Ability to travel twice a year for company events.
