About the role
TL;DR
Build and deploy production AI systems for enterprise customers.
- •As an AI Field Engineer at Fireworks, you will be the technical spearhead, embedding with ambitious customers and partners to rapidly transform complex AI challenges into production systems.
- •This role blends engineering, product, and customer delivery, requiring hands-on keyboard work building POCs, MVPs, and production integrations, alongside executive-level discussions on architecture, strategy, and business outcomes.
- •Key Responsibilities Build end-to-end POCs and MVPs alongside customer engineering teams.
- •Architect inference foundations and size deployments for GenAI-powered core products.
- •Run load tests, establish baselines, and tune deployments for optimal performance.
- •Guide customers on model selection, fine-tuning strategy, and evaluation methodology.
- •Own the technical relationship from engagement to production deployment, building trust with stakeholders.
- •Requirements 5+ years in a hands-on, customer-facing technical role (e.g., Forward Deployed Engineer, Applied AI Engineer, Solutions Architect).
- •Demonstrated ability to build and ship production software with customers.
- •Strong Python skills, familiarity with Kubernetes and infrastructure engineering.
- •Working knowledge of the LLM stack, including inference trade-offs and fine-tuning workflows.
- •Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP) and deploying models on GPU infrastructure.
