Owns and evolves the design system, ensuring unified product experience and engineer efficiency.
- •Virtuous is seeking a Senior Product Design Engineer to own and evolve their design system.
- •This role is crucial for ensuring a unified and elegant user experience across the entire product surface, empowering engineers to ship high-quality work efficiently.
- •Key Responsibilities Own the design system end-to-end, including tokens, primitives, components, patterns, and documentation.
- •Develop and maintain the operating model for shipping new patterns and integrating them into the core system.
- •Drive adoption of the design system by treating engineers as users and making it faster to build with the system than around it.
- •Build production interface work weekly to stay connected to the codebase and identify system improvements.
- •Ensure the design system acts as an AI guardrail, making it easy for generated interfaces to stay on brand.
- •Requirements 6+ years building production interfaces in a modern frontend stack with ownership of shipped work.
- •Direct experience owning a design system used by multiple teams across multiple products in production.
- •Strong point of view on distribution and consumption of design systems, with experience defending recommendations.
- •Genuine design sensibility with the ability to hold the line on quality.
- •Strong engineering fundamentals in Vue, React, component architecture, CSS at scale, performance, and testing.
