About the role
TL;DR
Design, build, and operate scalable global infrastructure for trading-critical systems.
- •As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will design, build, and operate the infrastructure that allows Alpaca to scale globally and run trading-critical systems with confidence.
- •You will have the autonomy to design and implement solutions against clearly defined goals and a real voice in shaping those goals with the team.
- •Key Responsibilities Design and evolve cloud architecture on GCP, expressing it entirely as code with Terraform.
- •Build and own CI/CD pipelines for IaC changes with automated plan/apply, code review, and safe rollout.
- •Advance Platform-as-a-Product by building self-serve capabilities for engineers.
- •Strengthen the observability stack across Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, and Tempo.
- •Operate GKE clusters and associated infrastructure services.
- •Requirements 5+ years in a DevOps, Platform/Infrastructure, or SRE role operating large-scale, high-availability systems.
- •Deep hands-on experience designing cloud architecture on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- •Strong Infrastructure-as-Code skills with Terraform and GitOps principles.
- •Proven experience building CI/CD pipelines for IaC.
- •Significant production experience with Kubernetes (ideally GKE) and Helm.
