- •Airwallex is seeking a Lead AI Engineer to own the technical design, execution, and people leadership for their AI assistant, Kai.
- •This role involves turning evolving LLM and agent capabilities into reliable production systems.
- •Key Responsibilities Lead and grow a team of AI, backend, and frontend engineers.
- •Define and evolve the technical architecture for agent orchestration, context retrieval, and tool integrations.
- •Lead the delivery of production-grade AI features from discovery through launch and iteration.
- •Build repeatable evaluation practices for task success, groundedness, and safety.
- •Drive engineering excellence across service design, reliability, and performance.
- •Requirements 8+ years of software engineering experience, including 2+ years leading engineers.
- •Deep experience designing and operating scalable agentic architecture or distributed systems.
- •Fluency in AI product and platform engineering realities (retrieval, model integration, agent workflows).
- •Disciplined approach to evaluation, monitoring, and operational readiness.
- •Security-minded approach to software design.
