- •Airwallex is seeking an Engineering Director to lead teams building and operating critical components of their Payments Platform.
- •This role involves people leadership, technical direction, and delivery ownership for a global payments infrastructure.
- •Key Responsibilities Define and execute the Payments Platform vision, strategy, architecture, and roadmap.
- •Lead, coach, and develop Engineering Managers and senior technical talent.
- •Drive technical architecture and platform excellence for high-volume, mission-critical payment systems.
- •Deliver with speed and operational rigor, managing execution across multiple initiatives.
- •Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Commercial, Risk, and Compliance leaders.
- •Requirements 10+ years of software engineering experience, with 5+ years in leadership roles.
- •Demonstrated experience in people management, including managing Engineering Managers.
- •Strong product thinking and ability to partner with Product Management.
- •Deep technical fluency in software architecture and system design for large-scale distributed systems.
- •Proven ability to operate in fast-paced, high-growth environments.
- •Experience in fintech, financial services, or payments industry.
