Junior Material Scientist to optimize polymer behavior in 3D printing.
•AON3D is seeking a Junior Material Scientist to join their R&D team.
•This role focuses on understanding and quantifying polymer behavior for additive manufacturing processes, translating scientific findings into software controls to ensure strong and reliable printed parts.
•Key Responsibilities Operate AON's high-temperature industrial 3D printers and become an expert in their use.
•Formalize key polymer extrusion behaviors and their impact on print quality.
•Design and conduct experiments to quantify phenomena and collaborate with software engineers to implement findings.
•Develop test workflows, provide feedback on software improvements, and train technicians.
•Requirements Master's or PhD in Material Science, Polymer Science, or Mechanical Engineering.
•Strong intuition for polymer behavior during extrusion processing.
•Theoretical knowledge of polymer rheology, extrusion processing, and thermodynamics.
•Experience in 3D printing, preferably FFF/FDM.
•Experience with high-temperature performance polymers (Ultem, PEEK, PEKK-A).
