TL;DR
Senior engineer to own architecture, development, and reliability of ecommerce web applications.
- •Backcountry is seeking a senior engineer to lead the architecture, development, and reliability of their ecommerce web applications, including the customer-facing storefront and back-office platform.
- •This role involves working with PHP, JavaScript, and CSS, and driving technical direction for the team.
- •Key Responsibilities Drive architecture, development, testing, and support for PHP web applications (Symfony and Laravel).
- •Lead front-end development with JavaScript and CSS.
- •Champion and evolve AI-assisted development workflows.
- •Own the data layer, designing and optimizing queries against relational databases.
- •Improve system reliability, observability, and incident response.
- •Requirements 5+ years of professional software development experience in ecommerce or high-traffic web applications.
- •Deep expertise in PHP, with production experience in Symfony and/or Laravel.
- •Strong front-end skills with JavaScript and CSS.
- •Solid understanding of relational databases and SQL.
- •Proven experience with end-to-end ownership of production systems.
