Principal Software Engineer

Principal Software Engineer to drive high-impact projects and own the technical roadmap for core issuing and processing.

• •As Marqeta’s Principal Software Engineer on the Core Issuing & Processing team, you will drive high-impact projects for customers, optimize issuing and processing engines, and own the technical roadmap for the core platform.
• •You will partner with engineering leaders to drive engineering and operational excellence.
• •Key Responsibilities Own the technical roadmap and author system designs for scalable, secure, and efficient card issuing and payment processing products.
• •Write, review, and optimize code across the issuing and processing stack.
• •Identify and drive technical initiatives to improve performance, reliability, and cost-efficiency of core processing engines.
• •Collaborate with Product Managers to analyze requirements and provide technical recommendations.
• •Mentor technical leads, influence stakeholders, and establish success metrics.
• •Requirements 12+ years of hands-on software engineering experience.
• •Demonstrated passion for software engineering excellence, including design principles, fault tolerance, scalability, cost, security, privacy, and TDD.
• •Experience partnering with product teams to bring innovative solutions to market.
