• •Build and lead the research function at Firecrawl, focusing on search, ranking, and information retrieval for web data extraction.
• •You will transition from hands-on work to hiring and managing a high-output team.
• •Key Responsibilities Own the research roadmap across search, ranking, and model training.
• •Ship production-grade research at scale to serve real customers.
• •Build and lead a team of 2-4 researchers.
• •Collaborate with engineering and product teams to prioritize investments.
• •Requirements 5+ years in applied research, ML engineering, or search/IR with production systems.
• •Proven experience shipping research from idea to large-scale deployment.
• •Deep knowledge of fine-tuning, model training, and information retrieval.
• •Ability to hire and lead technical talent.
