Staff Machine Learning Engineer, Simulation

Lead ML development for autonomous vehicle evaluation systems.

• •Waymo is seeking a Staff Machine Learning Engineer to join the Driver Understanding and Evaluation (DUE) team.
• •This role will focus on developing and operating scalable machine learning systems for evaluating autonomous vehicle performance.
• •Key Responsibilities Lead the development of cutting-edge Deep Learning and machine learning models.
• •Enhance User Feedback Analysis and design tools for multi-label classifications and sentiment assessment.
• •Oversee the production and optimization of machine learning models for Waymo's fleet.
• •Drive technical direction and provide guidance to the team.
• •Requirements B.S. in Computer Science, Robotics, Machine Learning, or equivalent practical experience.
• •Strong coding experience in C++ and/or Python.
• •Experience in Foundational Models, VLM, or Deep Learning. 5+ years of hands-on experience in machine learning projects.
• •Experience with ML frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, Hugging Face.
