Staff Machine Learning Engineer, Multi-Modal Perception

Develop and scale ML methods for autonomous driving perception systems.

• •Waymo is seeking a Staff Machine Learning Engineer to join the Perception team, responsible for building the system that perceives the surrounding environment of autonomous driving vehicles.
• •This role involves developing and scaling ML methods for large-scale real-world data.
• •Key Responsibilities Own and scale ML tasks within the ML Driver, improving task performance.
• •Analyze ML system behavior in real-world applications and develop solutions.
• •Monitor ML systems in production and develop automated issue detection methods.
• •Develop and maintain metrics for ADV-relevant issues, including safety-critical ones.
• •Requirements Bachelors in Computer Science or equivalent experience. 5+ years in Machine Learning and Computer Vision.
• •Experience with Python and ML frameworks like PyTorch or JAX.
