Sr. Engineering Manager, Key Value (KV)

Lead the Key Value engineering team at Cockroach Labs.

• •Lead a ~10-engineer team owning the Key Value (KV) layer of CockroachDB, responsible for replication, distributed transactions, and data placement across the database stack.
• •Key Responsibilities Manage and grow the KV engineering team, hiring and coaching engineers.
• •Drive and prioritize a complex multi-quarter technical roadmap across replication, transactions, distribution, and resource management.
• •Coordinate cross-functional interfaces with storage, SQL, backup/restore, and CDC teams.
• •Run multiple large parallel projects and represent the team externally at conferences and talks.
• •Requirements 5+ years managing software engineering teams with proven delivery from prototype to production.
• •Strong technical judgment in distributed systems, replication, and transactions.
• •Experience running complex, multi-project roadmaps and collaborating with product and engineering leadership.
• •Ability to hire, coach, and run performance/growth processes for senior engineers.
