Research and develop advanced AI models for autonomous driving perception.

• •Waymo is seeking a Staff Research Scientist to develop state-of-the-art machine learning solutions for autonomous driving perception.
• •This role involves researching and developing multimodal LLMs and world models to process sensor data from cameras, LiDAR, and radar.
• •Key Responsibilities Research & Develop state-of-the-art Multimodal LLMs and World models for 3D Perception.
• •Integrate emerging AI research into Waymo's sensor understanding models.
• •Design and implement evaluation frameworks for perception models.
• •Conduct cutting-edge research and potentially communicate findings to the academic community.
• •Requirements PhD or Masters in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Robotics, or similar, with 4+ years of industry or post-doc research experience in Reinforcement Learning or Foundation Models.
• •Demonstrated original contributions through high-impact publications or significant open-source contributions.
• •Proficiency in implementing scalable, distributed model training flows.
• •Willingness to work with globally distributed inference infrastructure.
