Tech Lead (Backend): Cards

Lead backend development for card issuing and transaction systems.

• •Technical lead for BVNK's Cards squad responsible for architecture, delivery and hands-on development of card issuing, tokenization, transaction processing and settlement systems in a regulated payments environment.
• •Key Responsibilities Define and drive cards platform architecture and technical roadmap.
• •Act as primary technical decision-maker and lead integrations with card providers.
• •Deliver scalable APIs and distributed services; contribute hands-on to codebase.
• •Mentor engineers and promote engineering best practices (CI/CD, testing, observability).
• •Requirements 8-12+ years software engineering experience with 3-5+ years technical leadership.
• •Strong Java/Spring proficiency and experience building microservices/event-driven systems.
• •Understanding of card payments, PCI-DSS compliance, cloud platforms and containerisation.
• •Willingness to join an out-of-hours on-call rota and work in a hybrid/remote setup.
